Environmental Awareness

With the ever increasing demands on the environment we have taken certain steps to reduce the pressure our business exerts.

We currently recycle the following materials:

• All cardboard.
• Non-plasticised paper.
• Aluminium
• Anti static packaging (plastic).

Paper we use in printing of manuals and other documents is non-plasticised and from renewable sources.
Paper used in our current batch of motherboard manuals and packaging is made from recycled paper.

Computer re-use policy

If you look at our second hand pages you will see a number of older items we are selling after trade in.

Asset Management

All UK companies now have requirements to manage items which could be classified as waste (Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005). We can advise and help other companies to comply.

If you have computer assets that have reached the end of their life we can accept these on your behalf, assess them and arrange reuse or disposal via authorised waste disposal agents.

Items we are concerned about.

CFCs. There was once widespread use of CFC solvents in the cleaning of printed circuit boards. To our knowledge all the manufacturers we currently deal with have moved away from this practice.

Disposal of waste computer items in domestic rubbish: It is now illegal (since 16 July 2005) for companies to "dump" computer items into domestic waste facilities, as these can end up in non-hazourdous landfill sites (where leakage may occur). We conform to the UK laws on disposal of our waste responsibly and encourage others to do so as well.
